Setting up a webscorecard > The Stakeholder perspective

The stakeholder perspective

The stakeholder perspective expresses the main connection between the companies goal and the website goals. The website goals should align to the business goals.

The most obvious goal of most sites is to generate money, directly or indirectly, by generating leads or more sales in the same market as the mothercompany.
Profit

But sometimes the website enters a new area, for example communicating directly to clients in stead of through dealer networks. In that case growth of the new channel is more important than money, and is the main goal.

Growth

Most of the commercial sites will have a combination of both goals.

To reach these (or other goals, Stakeholders will want to monitor other goals, like revenue and costs.  These goals will influence directly the growth and profit.
