Setting up a webscorecard > An Internet Customer Behaviour Model > Relevance

Information

Relevance is a broader term than information. Information is data with a meaning. If there is no meaning for the receiver, the information is irrelevant and becomes data only. Information helps influence the user in the perceived utility of the product and the decision to buy. It helps closing the gap between what the user wants and thinks about a product and what the website is offering. Information is subjective.

Relevance is like information but also applies to other aspects of a website, like the functionalities, or the type of carrier. Audio is a good example of a carrier that can be irrelevant at times. almost always irrellevant on a website,

The Information has a set af characteristics that i think are important for the internet, like the tone, presentation, the message, structure and the length. Eventhought you may deliver information to your user, it still may not be accepted as such, because of some of these characteristics.

These characterisics must be checked for all kinds of information carriers, like text, image audio etc.

Information aspects on the internet

The information must be the way your customers like it. If not ,they will not even try to pay attention.
